Volunteer Opportunity Overview for Compassionate Home Health Care (CHHC)

Compassionate Home Health Care (CHHC) provides a variety of meaningful volunteer opportunities across different areas of our organization. Volunteers are a crucial part of ensuring our mission is fulfilled, from supporting our health and hygiene campaigns to assisting with event coordination, warehouse tasks, distribution efforts, and our Health & Hygiene Popup Hub. Whether you’re an individual looking to give back to your community, or part of a corporate or school group, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Below are the areas where we need volunteer support:

1. Health and Hygiene Campaigns:

Our health and hygiene campaigns, including the annual #HolidayGivingCampaign, play a vital role in providing personal care and cleaning supplies to individuals and families in need. Volunteers are needed to:

Collection Box Coordination: Help distribute and pick up collection boxes from partner locations.

Donations Sorting: Assist in sorting, categorizing, and preparing donated hygiene items for distribution.

Outreach and Partnerships: Engage with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to expand our reach and bring in more donations.

Campaign Promotion: Spread awareness of our campaigns by helping with social media outreach, posting flyers, and engaging with local media outlets.

Volunteer Commitment: Flexible, with opportunities to assist before, during, and after campaigns, depending on your availability.

2. Health & Hygiene Popup Hub:

The Popup Hub travels to neighborhoods across Oshkosh, Appleton, De Pere, and Green Bay to distribute essential supplies. Volunteer roles in this area include:

Setup and Takedown: Help set up the Popup Hub, including tables, product displays, and informational booths.

Product Distribution: Assist in distributing hygiene and cleaning products to community members, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Community Engagement: Engage with local residents to raise awareness of the Popup Hub’s services and provide information about available resources.

Data Collection: Help collect feedback from community members on how the Popup Hub can better serve their needs.

Volunteer Commitment: We need volunteers for scheduled events, typically once or twice a month. Training will be provided before each event.

3. Events and Fundraisers:

CHHC hosts various fundraising events throughout the year, such as meat raffles and community engagement events like #RockTheDockCHHC. Volunteers are critical in:

Event Setup and Logistics: Assist with setting up event spaces, managing logistics, and ensuring a smooth event experience.

Raffle and Auction Support: Help sell raffle tickets, manage auction items, and coordinate prize distributions.

Guest Services: Greet and assist guests, answer questions, and ensure attendees have a positive experience.

Post-Event Cleanup: Support event takedown and ensure venues are left clean and organized.

Volunteer Commitment: Event-specific; most events require a time commitment of 3-5 hours, and scheduling is flexible based on your availability.

4. Warehouse Operations: CHHC maintains a warehouse where we store, organize, and prepare hygiene products for distribution. Volunteers are essential in:

Sorting and Organizing Donations: Help sort incoming donations, inspect items for quality, and categorize them by type.

Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an accurate inventory of products, restocking items, and preparing products for future distributions.

Packaging Hygiene Kits: Assemble hygiene kits with essential products for specific populations, such as veterans, families with children, and seniors.

Volunteer Commitment: Flexible shifts during weekday hours, with potential weekend opportunities based on donation volume.

5. Distribution Assistance: In addition to our Popup Hub, CHHC works with local shelters, schools, and community centers to distribute hygiene products. Volunteers are needed to:

Product Delivery: Help deliver hygiene kits and supplies to partnering organizations and individuals in need.

Client Assistance: Engage with individuals receiving services, helping them navigate available resources and distribute products in an orderly manner.

Tracking Deliveries: Maintain a record of items distributed, ensuring accurate reporting for our inventory and grant purposes.

Volunteer Commitment: Opportunities for weekly or bi-weekly shifts, depending on distribution needs.
